This is the End

Hey, everyone and welcome to another edition of Phil Goes to the Movies, and today i am here to review, "This is the End".  Love'em or Hate'em the stars of this movie, have been in a number of movies together in the past. Ranging from Super Bad to Pineapple Express to Knocked Up, and the list goes on and on. How was this movie you are asking? Lets dive right in:

This is the End- I want to say this movie was funny right off the bat, for me anyway... i just really enjoy these writer's sense of humor, and the ridiculous situations happening to the characters. This movie has the actors, playing an extreme version or a character of themselves. For example, a coked out Michael Cera, and he was hilarious. One scene he walks over to Jonah Hill and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, where Cera blows a handful of cocaine into Mintz-Plasse's face. He immediately starts freaking out, and im laughing my ass off. Then, i realize these three actors were the main characters in "Super Bad".

The main plot starts real simple, Seth Rogen is picking up his friend, Jay Baruchel, from the airport. Seth wants to go to James Franco's house for a party, which the two actors do, and fifteen minutes into the movie, the world goes to hell, literally! Celebrities are falling into a huge sink hole outside James Franco's house. Now, the remaining people alive in James Franco's newly built mansion, trying to survive the apocalypse.

Hell, even the actress, Emma Watson, was in the movie, and hearing her drop the F-bomb cracked me up, because for the last 10 years, i have only witnessed her speaking properly in her British accent. She later makes an appearance, where she pretty much robs Seth Rogen and his friends food supply with an axe, because of a miscommunication she thinks they are going to do things to her. Danny McBride states, "Hermione, just stole all of our shit!" Classic!

The special effects used for the demons were amazing, and i wouldn't want to fight these hideous things on a regular basis! Unfortunately, i really can't speak too much about this movie without giving away the whole story, and most of the things i spoke about are in the trailer. This was a really original idea for a movie!

Final Verdict- 8/10, the jokes keep flying at you left and right, and this is definitely the right way to kick off the summer season for comedic movies. Definitely go see this movie!

Thats it for now, I can't wait for more of the summer hits coming in July, and hopefully i can see most of them. Until then, this is Phil Goes to the Movies, so you dont have too!
